Well I just got my 40 series flowmaster welded on at the muffler shop. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not.. he did a straight pipe test for me that sounded awesome but I went with the flowmaster for some $150 add-on reason..

so my question is this.. is it safe to use a hack saw to remove the muffler, then get pipes from the auto store, and clamp on the pipes? If I don't like it, I can just clamp the muffler back on into place right? ..not sure how that'd work, so thought I'd ask first!

Thanks!

I believe I have 2.25" exhaust tubes..

how would one fit a tube over another? Lets say I have 2.25"..and I get a 2.50" tube to slide over both ends.. will that be too big of a gap when clamped together??
