The bronco had been running a little sluggish and i was told to clean the throttle body so i unbolted it and it was extremly dirty i used throttle body cleaner and a old toothbrush. If you have a rig with some miles on it i highly recomend this the throttle response was 3x as good as it was before. :D/

Ditto Big......I cleaned mine about a year ago...amazing results.....but mine was so bad the idle was horrible, had a bog, it was just a mess. I had to scrape carbon off the plenum walls.

Good advice....thanks for bringing it up!

You may have to take off the intake and clean it with carb cleaner and wire brush, while you are at you might want to think about cleaning the IAC. (Like the color on the Bronco)

I pulled my engine to replace a bunch of leaking gaskets and replaced a bunch of hard to reach parts while it was on the stand too. I decided to pull the heads and send them out to be surfaced and a valve job done and when I re-assembled it a couple months ago I noticed some carbon on the lower intake and the plenum so I blasted them with parts wash and held the T.B. upside down and blasted some throttle body cleaner into the butterfly valves, working them open & closed in between blasts. I always heard you weren't suppose to clean T.B.'s because of the coating inside the tubes etc. Mine even has a sticker on the side saying don't clean. You guys used a toothbrush? No problems? I'd like to do mine a little better next time if it won't hurt anything. Not exactly giving these things away.....lol. >:) -Kevin-
