I need to replace the tumbler for my ignition I already bought the part but I need information on how to remove the old one. The guy at the auto parts store told me it should have a release switch on it and should just pull right out, but when I try pushing a ***** driver or anything else hard into what should be the little release switch it wont move and the tumbler won't pull out. Do I have to pull the whole steering wheel? Btw, it's an '88 full size Bronc if that helps. Thanks guys!

The key needs to be in it then push the little button in and it will slide right out .  :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks for the tip, I had tried that before but the tool I was using didn't work so I grabbed a little pick and turned the key into the on position and the old ignition popped right out. So now my new ignition switch is in. That sure helps alot considering nearly all the teeth in the tumbler where gone, and I was having to leave my key in the ignition just to be able to start it, lol.
