Removing Windshield

Well its not on my bronc its on an econoline 250 i just bought. Prolly the same either way. To the point, what can or should i use to break the seal under the glass? i heard guitar string could do it but i tried a small piece of cable and it kept snapping. Is their some type of tool i should be using or is their some hill-billy way of doing it? i myself am a hill rat so i would rather do that, and its prolly cheaper. thanx, i hope yall arent ****** its not a bronco. its a ford tho

you either need a really big hammer to bust out the glass, or you will need a windshield knife. i have tired many other things, and have just always had to go back to the right tool for the job. but if you find anything that works let me know so i can add to my hillbilly fixer upper tool box.

What do you need? A pro. Replacing a windshield is no task for someone without proper training. Have it done professionally.

well i got it done myself, actually my pops helped me. we tried the small cable, that snapped. tried using a sharp wedge tool, that didnt do much either. we pryed offa small corner then grabbed a 2" peice of a stud put it against the windshield and pushed it out from the inside wit our feet. that did the trick for the most part, i grabbed a wood chisle and hammer and went around the seal and chipped it all off. took not even an hour. went to NAPA bought some sealent and laid the new one on......piece 'o' cake....besides the few pieces of glass i still have in my fingers.

my dad uses piano wire for removal sometimes...its a tricky task though
