Anyone install a DIY remote door lock/unlock switch?

I was tossing this idea around all summer.. but now I'm set on doing it. I live in an area where it snows.. and each snow storm, my door lock likes to freeze, leaving 1 other door or worst case, rolling down the back window and climbing in..or none work at all!

I was thinking of just taking off the door pannel, splice into the correct wires that operate the door lock/unlock function..and finding a nice remote location to place the switch..

A few I have thought of:

inside front bumper driver side. Have to be somehwere I could mount a bracket with the switch on.

somewhere inside/behind the chrome grill next to the headlight.

or just leave my triangle side window latch open..so I just need to push the glass in, then reach my arm down and unlock...tho I don't want someone to steal my truck or the goodies inside!!

Any ideas?

Cool, thanks!

I'll look into the silicone thing..never thought silicone would work for that!

I'm not talking about silicone RTV sealant; it's silicone spray **** in an aerosol can, available at Wal-Mart or any parts store.
Yeah I know.. I've used it on other applications but never clicked in my head for door locks

Been researching..see I hate the ugly aftermarket remote fobs..tacky looking

Looking at getting a remote system from Infinity/Nissan that I can maybe plug into my truck. That system also has an window up/down function
