i think the only way to do it manualy is to remove the motor, since it is connected to the gears that allow the arms to move. bacareful. it is spring loaded, w/ a good bit of tension.

Remove the rear panel, disconnect the plug to the motor and put 12v directly on the motor. If it doesn't move reverse the leads and if this doesn't work, the motor is dead and you will have to pull it apart. while your hands are in there, prop the window up so it won't fall on your hands incase it let's loose.

Good luck,

:)>-

Did you try the jumper- wire method suggested? The BFH pictured is what the ford dealership uses, but it's not necessary. Just take out the motor. Tie up the regulator arms and slowly let the glass go down.

Yeah, just unhook the motor. The counterbalance spring, and just basic friction, in there will keep the glass from moving on it's own. You can move it fairly easily by hand after that. A lot of people will say to move it through the access panel, but I was able to just grab the glass and move it. I ran mine like that for a long time before I found this site and realized what I needed was a $15-$20 fix.

yeah i got a 90 bronco and all i did was take off the panel then i manually pushed and pulled down the glass. then the gate should open

once you put in the new motor if thats your problem you can slide out the glass if the liftgate is down buy closin all 4 of the latches on the liftgate
