It sounds to me that your rear window switch and motor is working, but it needs assisatance from you.

If so, You can lubricate the rubber seals a little with WD 40 (the ones that seal the track that the window rides in. Also, you may want to check the tailgate alignment perhaps the latch pin moved a little bit.

Its possible that the electrical connections are corroded, and although working... not allowing full amperage through to the motor.

There is a safety switch in the driver's side latch, and connectors usually behind the left tail-light.

If you take open the panel, you most certainhly will find things to ***** and possibly connections to clean.

Not sure if you fixed the problem yet or not but here is what I did in this situation. After pulling the motor and testing it, it worked great. So I then pulled out the rear tailgate regulator I saw that it was corroded and pieces were not moving correctily. I cleaned off everything. Even pulled the rollers to clean under those. Then I put barring grease on all moving parts and WD40 on the spring itself. I put grease around the knobs for the rollers as well. I cleaned out the tracks for the rollers and even greased those. Now it works perfect.
