I also have tailgate window problems.

I ordered a new switch that I will pick up tomorrow.

Without a diagram and instructions of how to test it the switch, it really had me scratching my head.

I'll use a continuity tester and then...

I plan to draw a diagram and label the pins, then show which pins connect when the switch is in up, down and nuetral positions.

I am sure this will be helpful to many fellow forum members.

Hopefully when I am done, I will be able to scan the image and post it.

Wish me luck.

Here is the diagram
Thanks Fred,

I had this diagram when trying to figure out how to test the switch.

Frankly I couldn't figure it out.

It seemed that there were five wires each with a connector that made a variety of connections or NOT, depending upon which of three positions the switch was in.

Do you happen to have a diagram of the back of the actual switch?

I don't think I do, but if you look at the diagram, when it is in the neutral position, you should have 4 pins connected to ground,(the two with black wires plus the Purple with light blue stripe and the Purple with light green stripe) and with the ignition key in "RUN" one pin connected to 12V. If you push switch to UP, 3 pins go to ground and two should have 12V on them, (light blue with black stripe and the purple with light green stripe). When you push it to "Down" the 12V switches to the Purple with light blue stripe. Hope that helps you sort it out.

OH... Nooo! Smack my self in the head!!!

For that dash switch to go live the ignition switch has to be in the RUN position?

I need a new manual... Ford Bronco's for Idiots.

Actually Joe, it should also have 12V when in the Accessory position as well. Two fuses are used, one for the driver switch and one for the tail gate key switch.
