Hi Guys,

I have a 1993 Bronco, 302 Automatic. Driving down the road a few months ago she just quit. Smelled electionics burn in the cab, no power to coil, I am pretty sure the Powertrain Control Module is fried. How the heck to I get to this thing? I have the kickpanel removed and am looking at a large aluminum bracket for the emergency brake but can not see how to get to the PCM screws.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Actually you dont have to go in that way I just pulled a 92 and it came right out the front . Take and loosen the 10 mm bolt in the EEC plug and unplug it . Now theres 2 10mm ( I think ) bolts top and bottom of the EEC . Remove them and pull the EEC forward and out . To get the EEC socket out you have to take all the E Brake brackets out and half the damn dash . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Blade,

Amazing what turning a wrench will do for you. I went out and removed the Emergency Brake only to find a bracket, no screws, so removed the harness, looked around and saw the other two nuts. Took me a minute to realize it came out the front, had to loosen the wheel well but have it out and a new one on the way.

I normally look more than that but the Haynes manual led me in the wrong direction and I was in a hurry. To bad Chilton Manuals are so hard to find now, seems to me they were more informative.

Thanks for the quick reply,

Dave

Yeah some of that stuff is easier than it looks and some of it the ford engineers should have been strung up by there left one and left for the buzzards . For instance have you ever tried to remove the harness for the drivers side door on a full power option ? You will be plenty  after all that :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
