Can anyone help?? This is driving me crazy!!. Heres my problem..i replaced my power steering pump because it was making allota noise.I have a 77 460 in a short bed 78 pickup.Let me say too that the steering box is outa a 77 Bronco. At this point i tried 3 new pumps from two different dealers.Replaced the high pressure n the low pressure lines. Replaced the pully n the belt..im using F type power steering fluid..ive bleed the air with the filled stick out n the wheels off the ground time n time again..over n over..ive cracked opened the high pressure line with it running n pressure on the steering wheel..so with all that said n done is it possible my steering box is bad..oh i also checked for sticking tie rods..ball joints..stabalizer shocks..what am i missing??..when your sitting still the wheel has a lot of resistence..when i bring the rpms up it seems as if it makes it about 80 percent better..the steering box doesnt leak n the truck doesnt drift..going down the road at average speed the steering feels like its sticking n takes more effort then it did before i replaced the pump..the other thing is you can hear the pump working throuch the steering wheel..can anybody help??am i doing something wrong? is it possible i got 3 bad pumps??? is it the steering box??
