I just purchased a 89 ford bronco. The motor is junk when i bought it. But since i am pulling the motor i amgoing to have the trans rebuilt to. Is it possible to pull both together or is there clearance issues. the motor is a 351 and trans is a c-6 thanks

just pull the front core support out (you should do that anyways, makes getting the motor out way easier). unbolt everything holding the two down, and pull them out. have a few buddies on hand to guide the package out, and a tall cherry picker

If you want to attempt pulling both items at once, you will definitely need to remove the core support or front clip as a unit. I would advise doing each one separately. Most engine hoists have a hard time with just the motor. It is very easy to get unbalanced and tip over or move suddenly.

I first removed the transfer case, then the tranny, using a tranny jack. Then I pulled the motor out the front and over the core support last. That was a real chore due my lift kit, and the front clip is coming off when a new motor goes back in to make things easier!!!

Actually if your just pullin the motor the hood doesnt have to come off just open as far as it will go its actually a long ways if you push it all the way up . Wonder if the engineer that set that up worked onhis own stuff ????? HMMMMM :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
