i'm assembling a 9" w/ 4.11 gears- randy ring and pinion sold me my stuff the "complete install kit had the right carrier bearings and one of the right pinion bearing. My old pinion bearing and race were much bigger than what came in the kit. the kit had m88048/m88010 (bearing race) timken p/n for both pinion bearings. My rear end had race p/n hm89410 in the outer pinion
bearing (the one close to the gear) i purchased one of these bearings and races locally and continued the build. My problem
is that i can't set pinion bearing preload by the time i've applied even 100 ft/lb of torque to the yoke nut the pinion can bearly be
turned in the housing. Do I have a different kind of pinion support that needs an taller crush sleeve? the other wier thing is that the outer bearing is pretty much a press fit on the yukon pinion gear- on every other rear end i've worked on it hasn't been this tight. When i take everything back apart the crush sleeve looks like it hasn't been compressed at all. I realize that's a lot of part #s to know off the top of anyones head, but if there are some ford junkies who've built a few of these out there, I could use the help
