Hey guys,

I'm looking into changing my oil here pretty soon. I've done my routine motor oil changes using high mileage 5w30, but thinking it's probably long over due to change the other oils. So my question is, what should I have for the rear diff, 8.8", the front diff, Dana 44, and the tranny, E40D.

I've looked around on here and didn't have much luck.

Thanks in advance.

The oil mainly depends on the normal temperature for your area, 5W sounds a little low to me, it would never work for my engine.

As far as the differentials, I've always used 90W gear oil. The transmission I would leave alone unless you are going to drain, change the filter and refill it using Mercon. Personally, if the oil in it is red and it is not giving any problems, I'd leave it alone.

Good luck,

:)>-
