Hey Ccarder,
Sounds really simple, but check your battery cables. Make sure theres no corrosion between the posts snd the clamps.
If thats good, check where the pos cable connects to the solenoid in the fenderwell.
Good luck
Cheers

Cuts power, So head lights go out too?
Or try cranking engine with headlights on. If the headlights go out, you have a connection issue somewhere.

Also, have you tried with a set of jumper cables? What happens then?

I don’t know if the headlights cut out I’m kinda in the process of putting it back together so it doesn’t have a grill headlights or anything. I do know the lights on the dash and the radio loses power when I try to start it also.

Basically what you are looking for is if everything goes dead, then you have a battery, connection, cable issue. That is all having the headlights on would help you determine.

I think most of the other lights are supposed to go out while cranking so they are not a great indicator of a main power failure.

What about the power outlet, where you charge your phone, is it directly wired and on all the time? You can stick something in there and see if it still has power when trying to crank.

Do you have help? Have someone out a test light on the solenoid you replaced while trying to start the engine. See if the power stays on or goes off.

Hey there Ccarder
If its in the process of being assembled, you might not have a body ground connected. (Between the block and body.)
I would follow Tiha's suggestion. Connect a booster cable between the engine ground (pick something not painted, like the alternator housing) and the truck body. (The ground strap usually runs between the back of the intake and the firewall.) See if it will start then.
Good luck
Cheers!

I didn’t break it down that far. It was running perfectly fine other than the fuel pump leaking replaced the fuel pump then after that, it wouldn’t start. I’m assuming I bumped something over on that side. Only other thing I’ve done is pull the windshield off cause it was cracked.
