Greetings from the Sunny South.....Ya'll
I am new to the group and will post some pics of my mistress when I can. I think everyone will like her. She is a proven show winner and Top 10 truck out of Mississippi having finished #1 in the truck division in the Shake Rattle N Roll here last Saturday.
So suffice to say that after 10 years of breaking knuckles on her that I can(and will) offer all the tech assistance I can muster, just email me.
But right now, I have a plaguing issue that is driving me bonkers and would like to know if anyone has run into this problem on a Dana truck.....but more importantly, has anyone figured out how to frickin fix this rattle.
Here goes, truck is a 302/C-4 with Dana's and a J-Type transfer case that has not been rebuilt. I have a new Duff's suspension under it with only 2" suspension lift that including the bushings, has been done in the last 500 miles in an attempt to remedy this rattle(re: I thought it might have been a collapsed bushing letting the washers jingle on the frame rails, but alas....this was not that easy.)
Anyway, when you hit a hard bump at speed, it sounds like someone is ringing a little bell under the left side front of the vehicle.....literally.....ding a ling....ding a linga ling.....and I cannot for the life of me find this little rattle.
So far, new shocks, coils and 100% of the bushings under the truck have been replaced and this little ring-a-dingy is about to put me in a padded cell with a new white suit and a shot of Thorazine.....
If you have any ideas please post a reply.
I'll share my Thorazine......
