hey guys i've been readin the forum for a while now and finally joined. i'd like to get your opinions on my situation. Ok i've got a 93 bronco eddie bauer pretty stock i picked up about 8 months ago. needs a few things here and tere, but other than that runs like a dime. I've also got a 95 wrangler YJ with 4" lift front and rear rock bumpers, 9k winch, rear rack and tire carrier, 33" MTZ's w/ spare, sway bar quick disconnects, and off road jack and its a 5 spd. My problem is that i want something to hit pretty hard off road and take to work, i'm sure most of you know that Jeeps are ok, but the axles **** (mosty in the YJ's and earlier Jeeps), ok, i can A) sell the Jeep, use the money i make from the Jeep to do 6" lift 35" tires/rims, lockers on bronco OR B) keep my Jeep and save up to do Axle swaps. technically the bronco is my dads and i'd have to buy it from him for 1500 (even though he got it for me and i'm the only one who drives it) therefor i can't really sell the bronco to get money for the Jeep. SO keep Jeep and save OR Sell Jeep and Build up Bronco??????

honestly, by the time you put a lift/lockers/tires on the bronco, you'll be in the exact same boat you are with the jeep now. You'll be saving and waiting to upgrade axles...'cept these will be more expensive.

well either way i'm wanting to go dana 60's on either vehicle. The only other thing i'd consider is reeeaaalllly beefing up the dana 30 in the front of my Jeep with rediculously strong shafts locker ... etc, and throwing in an 8.8 in the rear from a 96-01 explorer, only cause it really strong (especially fo a Jeep), and its has same 4.5x5 bolt pattern so i wouldn't have to get new rims too, and i figure i mgiht as well do SOA while i'm at it. but remember if i keep the jeep i don't really have any money to work with. whereas if i build the bronco i can later on do shafts and all that fun stuff and i'm sure it would be adequite for what i'll be doing, no rediculous rock crawling just steep grades and ridges and the occasional boulders. any other opionions?

Well this is a Bronco website so some of us might be biased but In my opinion I say build the Bronco and off the Jeep. If you sell the jeep the money can be spent on a lift and tires. As long as you don't go past 35's your good with stock axles until you can afford 60's. Also i think you've already noticed the jeep needs help with moving those 33's, and thats right at the limit for that front axle. Just my 2 cents.

i guess i'm leanin that way. and yeah i know most on here are biased, but nobody can really deny the capabilities of a jeep done right, just the fact that approach and departure angles are the least of any worry and the turning radius and size is great too, if it only had better axles.. but yeah its by far probably the slowest thing on the road, and once you get about 65-70 the death wobble kicks in. well thanks fellas for your opinions, i guess i was already leanin that way i just wanted a piece of mind about it haha. i doubt i'd go bigger than 35's anyway since i'llbe driving it a lot and i'td be easier to take up to the parks in tenessee and virginia from here (SC).

OK .. anybody wanna Jeep?

There's nothing wrong with a Jeep, they are very capable little vehicles but they do have their limits...

The Bronco is also a very capable vehicle when done right.

The bias in me says sell the Jeep and build the Bronco. The only big downfall with the Bronco (IMO) is the MPG as a daily driver. I'm lucky I get 7 MPG with mine.

I suggest you continue to do your homework before you make a decision.
