I just bought this 1988 Bronco II XLT, and I was wondering about the doors/rear hatch. They all don't seem to close completely, I've tried adjusting them, but they still don't seem to close correctly. Is this common, or what should I do to make them close right? Also, where's the best place to get used parts for them? I'm needing a front grille, front bumper, new side mirrors and some new wheels, the alloy ones on there are corroded pretty bad!

You can post here or just shoot me a email.

Try www.lmctruck.com

The stationary door pillars may have lost, broken or worn down plastic on them. These are the cylinders bolted to the vehicle frame that the door latches close onto and grip. I have found that by simply wrapping a few rounds of electrical tape around them I can restore their diameter and have the doors close snugly again. This may be your problem. Of course, the door latches eventually wear through the tape, and I have to put new tape on every couple of months, but it only takes a minute.

Thanks for the help, with a little electrical tape, and some minor adjustments, the back hatch now closes like new! :)) Now I gotta figure out how to put the hatch shocks back on, since the little knobs broke off they attach to on the body. O
