My 87 has the hubs that come off with the wheels. I have a 91 f-150 with regular full time hubs (with a shifter in the floor). how hard is it to swap these over? is it pretty much just changing the hubs over, or will it be more of a pain in the butt....

I think you will have to swap the spindles over too. Not sure if they are the same so you might even need to swap the whole knuckle but its very worth it. The 87 hubs **** and are very expensive to upgrade

Yup, 87/88 hubs are unique in the Ford universe. Just *why* that is I have no idea but Yardape's probably right. Installing a set of Warn or Milemarker hubs requires an 87/88 specific kit which is why those hubs are so much more expensive.
