i have a 89 with a 302... I'm a young gun and figured a mild RV cam would be a good option for more low end torque... needless to say i was wrong.. i was forgetting that first generation computers are basically calculators and programed at one setting and will not compensate for anything! what my problem is when it starts it has an idle surge (400-1200 rpm) i know the cam changed the intake air pressure and its screwing up my MAP sensor.. it runs fine if your on the throttle... but it dies if you let it idle... and almost every time i stop.. so how can you fix the idle problem other than putting the stock cam back in?
