Being that its a different motor there are going to be alot of differences . I went from an AOD / 302 1989 to a C6 / 351 1990 and there were a few wires that needed to be removed from the harness and moved around . I have all the ford schematics for those years and Im not talking about those cheesy haynes or chiltons schematics these are the real deal blueprints from ford . ( I Have a buddy that works at a ford garage ) If it werent for them Id have been chasing wires for a long time . Your best bet is to use the complete harness from the motor your going to use . By reading your post it seems like your swaping the 351 for the 302 kinda backwards from what I would do but its your toy . Important things to remember in this swap 1 . you must use the flywheel that is on the 302 with the 302 2. the 302 uses a sensor in the power steering line to adjust the timing when motor is under load ( VERY IMPORTANT ) why because the EEC is going to be looking for that sensor . The 302 also uses a knock sensor located right behind the intake in the middle of the motor the 351 does not again the EEC is going to be looking for this . You cannot use the computer you have for the 351 and the E4OD you have to use the one from the 302/C6 . Why ? because the EEC for the 351/E4OD does not have some of the sensors used in the 302/C6 combo and the timing curve is set different because of the over drive plus that EEC looks for feedback from the E4OD so it would be a big mess and last but not least that EEC is calibrated for a 351 which pulls in more air volume than a 302 and being its a speed density system and doesnt know any better it would run very rich all the time . Best thing youcan do is get as much of the donor truck as possible especially the complete motor harness and the EEC . When I did mine I went from 302/AOD to 351/C6 had complete harness from 90 and it plugged into the 89 chassis harness but there were 4 wires that needed to be moved around in the harness I remember the oil pressure sensor and coolant sensor wires but dont remember the other two . If you try to use the 351 harness on the 302 you will have to repin out the injector plug . Hope that gives you an idea of what your going to have to do . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

That was a very confusing post, both to post in as well as to read. You should always add what engine sizes you are working with right from the get go. You were getting info from all directions because you weren't clear as to what you are doing. So if you are more confused than when you started you will probably get better results by reposting this question but include everything you know about the trucks.

Merry Christmas
