My Bronco has been resting for a few weeks now because I began smelling a faint odor of gas and just ignored it for awhile until I went outside and smelled it really strong and this time it was actually dripping on the ground. It was so strong I thought the neighbors would complain so I dropped the tank and emptied out what I could into gas cans.I could see little pin holes in the bottom right corner and when I tapped it with a screwdriver it went through.I'm just waiting on a tank and a skid plate because mine just crumbled to pieces.I got the bronco tarped for now because I had the top off since June.Hopefully no animals moved in LOL.

While you are doing that, you might want to replace the sending unit or at least make an access panel to get at it when it goes bad. http://broncozone.com/topic/12329-gas-sender-unit-access-panel/

Good luck,

Yeah make an access pannel!! Very easy to do and will save you time/headache down the road with fuel pump issues. I'm going to do mine sometime soon when I get the time.

Thats a good idea for the access panel.I thought about replacing it.I,m going to take a chance on the pump because the sending unit-fuel pump assembly were replaced by the original owner not that long before I bought the Bronco with an original Ford part,it still has the Ford service part sticker on it.I know it doesn't mean it can't go tomorrow.I have the new tank already just need to go up to Chuck&Eddies tomorrow to locate a skid plate for the tank and the Bronco is good to go.
