I feel like I am beating my head into a wall!!!

I went to go pick up my special order plugs, for the second time. (Since the stores around here think '70's vehicles shouldn't need parts anymore) It is still not the right plug. I even took the old one in to cross reference it to a Bosch plug.

Here is what I have: Motorcraft ASF 32C

I have been told to order Bosch 7950's and 7951's. Neither are the right thread diameter. I did a search on line to find out that these plugs fit 85, 87-95 Stock Mustang ** Heads. I have tried going to the Bosch site and cross referencing the plug to what they have, the part number is not in their system.

I am on my way back to Advanced Auto...

I finally got the right spark plugs. Ended up with NGK UR5 2771.

Well folks, I think I might have found out what happend!!!

The oil pump drive shaft was not in the oil pump! What I figure happend is that when I pulled the old one, the shaft vacuumed itself into the dizzy, allowing it to slip up and out of the oil pump.

I still am not sure if the dizzy will drop in, I had to *** so bad my eyes were watering, but I will report back!

I just noticed the question about mic'n the dizzy...

I do not have a mic. But, there is a section below the o-ring of the new dizzy that is the same diameter of the material above the o-ring that has been into the engine.

My post # 17 --- page 1

"Sooooo.., all I can add is the shaft should be centered down in its hole., give or take a little movement. (like your "top" picture)

Are you sure it's completely down, & in place in the oil pump..??

I doubt it should be laying against the sidewall.

We were on the right track...!!!

Can't tell ya how happy I am to see this mystery solved..!! :D/

I know you are..!! Good job..!!

Start a new post with the "running" situation.

Right on track!!

I would not have had to pull the pan if I had a wire camera!

What did you think about those gaskets?

"What did you think about those gaskets?"

I've not used the rubber but can't see how you can go wrong.

I've used the other., I like to "Sylicone" them to the pan with the bolts in the holes to maintain alignment.., & let dry a bit.

I've actually glued the rubber ends in place with contact cement...then put a small blob of sylicone in the corners where they mate, just prior to install.

I use heavy grease on the gasket where it meets the block & a small amount on the rubber.

That way., I can R&R the pan at will if necess. W/O messing up the gasket.

---(but., everybody has their method)

One pointer..., if the bolt holes are indented in.., set the edge on a block of wood., & tap flat with a hammer.

Best if that whole surface is flat...& don't over torque.
