I just got my kit today, ordered it on Thursday and got it the following Tuesday...good turn around time. I read on here by some that all they were getting with the kit was a filter and angle bracket...so they went ahead and fabricated one for themselves and just bought the filter. But...take a look what I got. Now I know this is not a true cold air kit as the filter sits under the hood with no fresh cool air going to it, but maybe someone can figure out how to ram some to it like in my next post. I will post more pics after I get this thing installed and let ya know if I see a mileage boost.

Here is what a true cold air kit should be like. This is the one I installed on my 94 9c1 Caprice Police Cruiser. Notice how the plexiglass in the hood/grill deflects the air up and away from the radiator and into the air box. the hood completes the seal on the top side. This has twin electric fans so cooling is not compromised. What we need is something that will ram the cold air into the K&N for the Bronc.

I know there is a hood that rams the air into the filter box, I dont have a truckin magazine with me but thats where I seen the ad. I installed my filter this weekend, it is just a filter that I purchased and bought a pair of 3" muffler pipes to attach it to air hoses. I have pictures that I can post up later on today, the whole setup only cost me about 60 bucks. I just filled up yesterday so its to early to tell if I am getting better fuel economy, but I can say RoadKill was right, with the new power its hard to keep off the accelerator.

Got it installed with a couple of small problems....missing a bolt in the kit, and I dropped and lost a hex nut during installation. I also had a problem with the throttle body intake tube rubbing ******* the air box opening. I felt it would wear a hole in the plastic intake tube over time so I added the left over 6" piece of rubber seal between the parts.

One thing I like about the new airbox is it seals off the hot air at the top (the hood seals the top with the addition of a rubber seal on the top edge of the box) and sides except where the throttle body tube comes through...(need to fill in that opening better) and it still allows air to be injected into the airbox via the stock air intake on mounted on top of the radiator while the bottom of the box is for the most part wide open to allow cooler air to be drawn from under the truck.

I will drive it with just this new addition for a while to see if I get any gains in mileage (main goal). I have noticed a little difference in acceleration after she gets spooled up. She sounds bad for sure!

Pics will be added to this post soon.
