So i got a nice pair of eddie bauer seats for dirt cheap, 2 front and back. Obviously the back was an easy swap. I dont know if anyone is familiar with these seats but the bolt pattern is different on the EB seats. They are much closer together in the front and back. My question is, If i drill NEW holes and put 1/4 in nut and bolt into the whole will it rip right through the body? I noticed the old bolts go into a bracket. I dont have a welder or access to anyone that can weld. I was thinking to just put BIG washers underneath assuming i have room down there for one. Has anyone done this swap and have advice!

Ive put bucket seats in where bench seats were before, all I did was drill holes and use big washers, just make sure they are tight because any movement to will tear through in no time. Thats a very interesting find. I did not know that. Have you considered swapping the seats onto your old frames?

The seats are different all together, one seat has that spring loaded flip forward feature. I thought about it but I dont think they match up either. and these seats have recline which mine didnt have, actually my driver side didnt but passenger side did. i figured they would be the same but im noticing many differences including both the driver and passenger seats have 2 armrests each! and a nice zippered pouch behind each seat with 2 or 3 seperate compartments

I realize that they are different but flip them over and have a look at how they mount to the seat, they might be identical. I only suggested that because it would save you a ton of work. have a look, you never know.

yeah ill check the actual bolts to the seat itself like you suggest. i drilled the wholes last night for the passenger seat and they arent really accessable from underneath to work with...the driver side has no issues but i have to cut the bolts any way because they are stripped rusty and loose...why cant anything be easy!

It builds a bond between you and your truck when its difficult. Yes the bolts im talking about mount the track frame to the bottom of the seat, its held in place by I think its 4 small bolts like 8 or 6 Mill heads on them. Your life will be very easy if that works. Its been awhile since I took the seats apart but we did it on my buddies 85 Bronco, The seats from my 90 wouldnt line up to the holes on his floor so drilling was our first thought but we swapped the bases over and it worked perfectly
