high steer on early broncos

Hello All,Has anybody ever done high steer on their early broncos.If so any problems with clearance issues,track bar problems etc.I have a 66 bronco with a reverse cut 44,2 wheel drive steering box,351 W, and obviously chevy flat tops with high steer arms..Thanks

Not real sure what you mean by "high steer" or the "Chevy flat tops with high steer arms". Has someone swapped out your 44 with a Chevy 44? Is that what you mean?

By high steer, are you meaning flipping the tie rods from the bottom to the top? If that is the case, there is no problem there what so ever. If you have a lift, it is actually a bit better because it brings your steering geometry back closer to stock. As for the track bar, get a track bar riser or lowering bracket from one of the EB parts warehouses. Namely WH or BC. That will remove any problem with the track bar.

But I am confused about the chevy flat tops......not sure what you are talking about there.

High steer is usually done on soa vechiles but can be done on coil sprung vechiles also.You use mid 70's chevy flat top knuckles that have flat mounting surfaces on them to mount steering arms on as on chevy 4x4's.They come stock with the three studs on the driver side on chevys then you find the passanger side that has the same mounting surface with the three bosses on them,them machine flat and drill and tap,then get high steer arms from places like Parts Mike.I have built a ford reverse cut 44 with chevy brakes and ford hubs basically so I can run the high steer arms.It raises the draglink and tie rod 4 or 5 inches above stock.The tie rod over knuckle set up flips it from the bottom "stock" to the top of the knuckle.High steer moves it up a couple of inches above that.

I think I get what you are talking about. I have never worked on a Chevy 4wd before so I am ignorant when it comes to that or their parts...sorry about that. If you are wanting additional height above the tie rod over, I would look into getting the Stone Crusher Steering. You might even be able to install the entire thing on top of the knuckle joint. But that is the best advice I can give you...Sorry, not much help on that one.
