sorry about posting this here but i didnt find a better place for it.

so i bought a long block off of a friend for $100 and im having problems IDing block and heads, the intake has "c80e-9425-c"(428cj) heads have "edc 6090e" cast between middle two cyl. but no freeze plugs, and the heads have two sets of plugs pointing one direction and the other two sets pointing the other( stamping says "352" but plugs say "390" or "428")and the block only has "352" cast on the front of the left bank with "79" cast right below the "352" with "dip"(dearborn plant) stamped above oil filter housing. now i know FE engines are about the hardest to ID, but im really wanting to know about the heads the block ill ID after i tear it down.

Ford 5.4L, 332, (1958-67) Remanufactured Cylinder Head. Model: RemanufacturedManufacturer: Ford Price: $150.00 Weight: 60lbs Date Added: Friday 25 June, 2010

Ford 5.4L, 332, 1958-67, Remanufactured Cylinder Head. Casting Number: EDC 6090 E. NO CORE CHARGE!!! 2 Year

1958-?? EDC-6090-E - machined, core plugs on end, no exhaust reinforcement, may be other varieties

by Scotty1; "They are early FE heads for a 332-352 1958 models. They just have the CJ Valve sizes in them. Don't get me wrong they are probably good heads and will work fine for a nice build up. They head volume is 69.0 - 72.0. They will net a little more compression ratio but under the right circumstances that could be a good thing. One other thing I would look into is getting hardened valve seats put in to those heads."

by KULTULZ; "They are early 1958 352 heads and came with the combustion chambers machined and a mechanical valvetrain. The heads will definitely work, but please be advised that they have smaller chamber volume than most later heads. This will affect your compression ratio (like I need to tell you that)."

by kj6ko; "Those heads are old Edsel/406/early 352 heads!! You can very easily install CJ size valves in them and they have HUGE ports! Machined CC's are the giveaway. They are also the same casting as the early 406 HP heads!! They are the only "standard" FE head I have ever used where the intake ports actually used ALL of the intake gasket!! USE THEM!!!" in same link as above.

from E bay seller randysengine; "THIS IS A SET OF (2) 352 HEADS, CASTING # EDC 6090 E. The combustion chambers in these heads are machined rather than the usual "as cast". They do have some rust pitting in the chambers though. This is the information I found on them, but the buyer is responsible for fitment.
