Howdy guys and gals...

I have an 87 Bronco I've owned for quite a few years, but poor trucks starting to show it's age so I decided I'd hop on to this forum and research ways to fix her up before the wear and tear gets too out of hand.

I did decide to take the top off today, first chance I'd ever had of taking it off, and I must say I wish I had done it earlier... It was a blast... now I just have to figure out how to get it on and aligned properly (time to break out the manual or use the dreaded search button) so I can get the back window back up....

My main interest is classic gaming, but with the weather getting warmer I find myself ready to get outdoors and play with my truck :) so anyways heres a picture of my truck ******* from today, and another taken about a year and a half ago...

I'll get some more pictures up in a day or so.....

Welcome, MC! > You're right, ******* is the only way to go. Don't worry about getting it lined back up. There are three alignment pins to do that for you. One on the back of the cab, and two along the bottom edge of the top (near the back end). When you have to put it back on, it will just fall into place for you. B)

thanks Roadkill for the welcome and advice.... I managed to get it on, but it may be slightly off because the back window acts like it wants to hang going back up. I'll most likely have it off again next weekend so I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong then....

Howdy & Welcome!!! There should be a metal alignment pin on each side of the bed rails as Roadkill stated. IF you don't have those, try loosen the hardtop bolts, and re-tighten them from the cab rearward. Leave the last 2 on each side a bit loose, and check your window alignment. IF the hard top gets warped you may be able to move it in or out from the side and then tighten the bolts. You don't need to install all 13 bolts bolts that hold the hradtop if you're going to be taking it on and off. Usually, 2 or 3 on each side and 2 in the cab will keep water from leaking in, and may nmake it easier to line up. Store the top flat on some old tires or lumber to keep it off the ground. If you stand it up against the wall, it can warp on you. ******* is the way to go, love the pics. JSM84

WELCOME! I remember when I took my top off. I did it by myself (big mistake) and it hurt for about a week. I barely break 5'6" and my truck is stock height. Anyways, it's the greatest thing to have the top off, my little one even thinks it's great.

Welcome to the Zone! I used to live in Upstate SC in Oconee County, now I'm in downtown Orlando, FL....yeah I know, it sucks. Anyway I love the rig and the license plate up front gives you away on your classic gaming. Those were the best. What is the name of your rig?

As to the question of where and how, Jeff's Bronco Graveyard is a great place for parts and such. www.broncograveyard.com is where you find them.

You know I never did give my poor ol' bronc a name.... Don't know why... Guess me and the truck have a love hate relationship, I hate when it takes me to work, but love it because it's so much fun to drive...

I have been checking out www.broncograveyard.com and looks like they have some good stuff and may be checking them out further for parts...
