Hi Yall, Im Jay and Im 15 so I dont quite drive yet but I love bronco's and im currently looking for one as my first vehicle. I know a lot about mechanics for my age, but thats still isn't much. I joined mostly because it looks like you guys know what your talking about and once I get my truck maybe I can find some good suggestions on what to do to it. I know I want it lifted with big A.T. tires but it needs to handle as both a daily, get around town vehicle and as an off road vehicle. One thing I am very worried about is the gas prices. Here they've been hanging at just under $3 a gallon and as a 15 year old I don't make to much money. Im just scared that Ill be putting so much out in gas that I wont be able to afford to customize it.

Anyway, once again, Im Jay or JT and im new :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yeah, I've been considering propane but my dad says its almost not worth it because propanes going up in price too. And he says I cant have anything older than a 90, its really making it hard to find somthin.

well then you have your choice from a 90-96 bronco... but why no older?

 Theres a small story behind that. My dads been working on cars/trucks since he was 13 (he's 42 now) and he's had his fill of older vehicles. My dad, my mom and I are all Ford fans but for some reason my brother likes Chevy's so his first vehicle was a 81 Chevy custom deluxe 3/4 ton; After that piece of sh** my dad doesn't wanna own anything older than a 1990. So, he told me I could get anything newer than a 90; plus that should make it easier to find something with lower mileage... Really, its just making it harder to find anything.

Basically, I need-

A 90-96 bronco (1, not 2),

with less than 100k miles,

in good interior condition,

and survivable exterior condition,

within about 500 miles of Vegas,

for less than $7k(well thats what I'm hoping).

I dont really care if its stock or if they've already done some stuff to it, Im planning on raising it at least 3" - 4" and putting some bigger tires on it and stuff... I dont know, I have to see what I can find to work with.

i got my rust free 79 for 1000

only had 68k miles...

now ive added a 3 inch body lift and 33's but i have 36's im putting on and a 4 inch suspension lift..and im regearing the axels...

i got it so cheap b/c the steering was real loose had about 5 inches of play...so the guy barely drover it...note the 68k miles....

well after some $12 dollar trac arm brushings it was good as new
