I agree, just runt he hose back to where the return is right next to it. I did this every couple of weeks when my junkyard cores would blow up all over my passengers feet while in high school.I did this same thing on an old Blazer: Connect the end of the hose that goes to the heater core back to wherever the return line goes in. That way you don't interupt the flow of water thru the rest of the motor. BE sure the hose is not kinked, or next to the exhaust manifold, pulleys, fan, etc.
