heater hoses

ok so i just removed my heater from my 78 and was wondering what i should do with the 2 hoses running off the water pump? is it safe to just block them off since i dont need them anymore or will that mess up anything?

I did this same thing on an old Blazer: Connect the end of the hose that goes to the heater core back to wherever the return line goes in. That way you don't interupt the flow of water thru the rest of the motor. BE sure the hose is not kinked, or next to the exhaust manifold, pulleys, fan, etc.

I agree, just runt he hose back to where the return is right next to it. I did this every couple of weeks when my junkyard cores would blow up all over my passengers feet while in high school.

I just went to the auto part's store and bought a hose with a loop in it that would work.Here's a pic.

like the loop idea freak, i had a 90 degree fitting laying around the garage. i used so it wouldnt kink the hose, its been runnin ok so far
