so i got a 87 bronco efi. i was at pick n pull today and got to looking and from what i can tell for the most part all the axles and running gear bolt up the same. if i were to take all the one ton or 3/4 ton front and rear end and and sway bars ect. for the most part would it just bolt up with few modifications. and if so or if not. either way. what mods would i have to make.

question 2

i want to make my bronco into a street legal trail rig. what would u recomend for front and rear end swap. 1 or 3/4 ton? should i go solid front or no?

question three.

while doing all that would it be good or bad to swith to auto locking hubs or should i stick with manual? what are the pros and cons of both

thank u guys for all ur help. this place is awesome. im new to broncos. but i love them. im new to trying to build a rig but love working on cars. and i also **** with all the technicall stuff. i just love building. so any help u guys can give on these subjects or anything else u might think would help me would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of wheeling do you like to do?

If you are not sure about the hubs it might be a bit early to be thinking of 1 ton running gear. And the swap is all technical stuff. The Bronco will keep you on the trail for a long time just the way Ford made it. Spend some time wheeling it and figure out what you like and do not like.

For more information on Solid Axle Swaps (SAS) there are a ton of folks at that link who have done it. And more information than the average person could digest.

well for wheeling like a said this will be my first rig. but i like rubicon type stuff. and i want to be able to fit tires bigger than 35s without having to worry but snapping axles or anything. as for the hubs i dont know why they would be good or bad. just trying to learn. this truck is going to just be a builder for a good long time so time and money im not worried about. parts are cheap also. so anyother insite u guys have would be great. thank u
