gear shift indicator wrong!!

I just failed inspection d/t the fact that my gear shift indicator doesn't work properly. I knew there would be something with an older vehicle.

Anyone know how to fix this? I found a fix for F150s, but doesn't seem to be the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, Where do I find out whether I have riveted or bonded brake shoes without taking the drum apart???
