I own a 93 eddie bauer bronco and i'm concerned because something is turning my front rims black. Despite keeping them as clean as possible they continue to become black over time. I've only owned the truck for about five months and it has recently started to concern me. I'm admittedly not very knowledgable when it comes to automotive workings and i only wish to get better at it. Any help is greatly appreciated...thank you.

That usually comes from brake dust which an exesive ammount is usually due to driving habits . Its a heavy truck to bring to a stop from 60 to 0 in 10 feet of the stop sign . It also could be caused from the rear brakes being worn or non functional forceing the front to do all the work . Next time you have brakes done or do them your self look into the highest grade pads and rotors you can get this may help out alot . Mine had clear coated rims on it and the hot brake dust actually embedded itself in the clearcoat so there was no cleaning them anymore . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
