Hey, new to the website, I recently purchased an 87 xlt Eddie Bauer. It is completely stock, it has 143k, a 302 with an AOD tranny. It sat for 6 years, am no mechanic but I have done a few things changed all fluids, flushed the cooling system, tranny, new filter on tranny, new plugs and wires. It runs and shifts great when it is cold, but when it warms up it looses power. It feels like I am applying the brake when accelerating. It also shifts hard into overdrive when warmed up. Any advise would be appreciated, just looking for a place to start trouble shooting.

Aw ****, she's yelling at me to come in but real quick here, if it's shifting funny (especially hard) take a look the the AOD throttle pressure. it can cause hard shifts and if it's out of whack (from a stretched cable) it can smoke your tranny right quick. Gotta tend to the ole' lady or I'd ramble on more.

Thanks for the info, will check into that, for the tranny. If Cable needs to be replace, what is the name of the cable? Looking forward to more rambling...
