Engine Swap Options

hey guys, im a brand new bronco owner. i just got myself a 89 fullsize bronco custom with the 4.9 engine and manual trans. my plans are to go big with the whole truck. First being engine and trans. I know they make the 5.0 and 5.8 engines for the bronco so my question is what can i swap my 4.9 for? same thing for the transmition. can i fit an automatic? i would like to have a EFI engine with a new PCM is that also possible? what can i do and what is usually the better way to go. thanks alot guys.

Welcome to the Zone > . You can put a 5.0 or 5.8 but will have to change the mounts. The existing transmission should bolt right up to either of them and there are other trnsmissions that bolt upo also like a C6 or AOD.
