I have put a 351 w efi from a 92 bronco in my 89 with a 302 efi. I rebuilt the dizzy from the 302 to fit and work on the 351 and work with my wiring harness. I have been over everything I was using the computer from the 92 and could not get any spark. So I tried the one from my 302 and still no spark at all. Could the computer be my problem?

Try removing the SPOUT connector. Without it, the engine uses a default timing. Also, make sure that the distributor is aligned properly. Go back to the distributor setup proceedure and check it again.

Good luck,

:)>-

I know the dizzy is different so i bought the stuff to rebuild mine to make it work for a 351. So you just changed your coil and you rcoild was good before you did the change?

"Try removing the SPOUT connector."

How do I remove the spout connector?

by the distributer there is a little grey "relay" looking thing. follow the yellow wire to find it. if it isn't right by the distributer then it is on the drivers side fender below the hindge :)>-

KEEP IN MIND WHAT I SAID ABOUT THE SPEED DENSITY VS. THE MASS AIR FLOW IN YOUR OTHER POST. NOT SURE IF THEIR THE SAME OR NOT FOR THOSE ENGINES

Right by the ignition module plug on the distributor there is a little sqaure plug looks like it caps off the plug its on there are 2 wires coming out of the back of it you must unplug the spout connector ( basically a jumper ) to be able to set the base timing or else the computer will keep trying to compensate for where ever you move the distributor . The 351 distributor shaft has a 5/16 hex in the end of it for the oil pump drive and a 302 has a 1/4 hex for the oil pump drive and I also think it may be a bit shorter , And for 89Bronco58 have you realized any kinda leaness in the motor performance ? Very curious about that because I had to change mine when I did it the computer isnt programmed to support the extra air volume of the 351 . It will run but should be way lean . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I do not know the differents between the mass air flow or speed density. My 302 looks the same to me as the 302 except the it is bigger and that it says 5.8 on the upper intake.

The oil pump drive shaft is bigger but they are the same hieght. I checked all that out. I will try to cut out the spout connector.

if it has mass air then there is a sensor between the throttle houseing and the air filter. speed density does not it uses a map (maniflold apsoute pressor) sensor that is on the fire wall. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

DONT cut the spout connector off thats a big no no . It has to be hooked together in order for the computer to advance and ****** the timing . That style distributor has no kind of advance in it so whatever you set the base timing at that will be your timing no matter how fast the motor runs and if you did set the base timing to where you wanted it to run at youd never get it started and probably be putting a couple starters on it . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I just took out the plug Like you said. So I need to put it back in once I get her to start and timed correct? I think my coil is bad I know the curcuits test good on it but I only get like 8 volt coming output terminal and it should be alot higher. I am going to go pick one up and see what you think?

I tried a new coil did not work. The knock sensor on the 302 would this cuase this problemdo I need to jump it or something? I know you do not need it for a 351.

I ran codes and this is what I got. I dont understand why they whould cause no spark.

34 PFE or EVP circuit above the closed limit of 0.67 volts

84 EGR Vacuum Solenoid circuit failure.
