I have a few problems with my 1986 Bronco XLT I can't get around

1. The brake lights don't work when I apply the brakes, the lights do operate while the headlights are on, and when I press the brake pedal down the lights do not operate the way they should and my front turn signals go on till I release the brakes.

2. I've set the timing 4 times, and it still runs rough, I do not have the Spout connector in because when it's in it barely runs with the ECU connected.

It will start, but runs rough, at times it smells of Rotten Eggs in the truck randomly and goes away as quick as it came.

sometimes it will stall when in gear, other times it makes popping sounds out of the throttle body and lacks power.

I would really like to get to the bottom of this issue, it's driving me crazy, I'm just about to say ***** it and sell it AS-IS

Well you break lights might be from your switch at the break pedal. Now for your rough idle itcould be your cats (yes i'm sure you got two back to back) Alot of the time if it is a cat problem it will run fine you can go down the road a few miles and then it will stall and wont crank back up until it cools. To make sure if it is or not your cats you can drill a hole in front of your cats directly in the pipe about 1/4 inch big or so;make sure you have a way to plug the hole before you make it because after you make the hole crank it up and see if it still runs the same way.Oh yeah it will be a little LOUD thats why you want to plug it afterwards. If it seems to run better then its your cats. Hope this helps you out.
