I decided it was too much work to convert my 84 Bronco to EFI for the 88 460, so I converted the 460 to a carb. For your 82, you'll need everything from the fuel tank, lines, wiring, ECM/computer, injectors and intakes (upper and lower), and a new distributor. www.fordfuelinjection.com is prolly your best source of info on the swap. You might also consider an aftermarket throttle body (TBI) fuel injection set-up that can handle any horsepower upgrades you might want to add. JSM84

The F-150 fuel lines may be different length, since it prolly has two gas tanks. I never could figure out why ford would put a single 13 gal tank in a truck that made 12 mpg. IF you're really set of an EFI motor and working OD tranny, I would consider getting another Bronco. It may cost some $$ but would be alot easier than swapping over all the EFI parts to your 82. I don't think the gas mileage will be that much better on say a 90 EFI and your 82 carbed motor. You're still going to be in the range of 10-15 mpg. And I've seen three Broncos change hands in the past month. One was free with a bad motor, another was 500 and running, the last was $1000 and running. These were 88-90 Broncos here in texas. Folks are seliing them left and right due to the gas prices, I guess.

Well I guess everything depends on just *why* the Old Man's F-truck is out of commission. The unfortunate fact of the matter is that the 5.0 & the 5.8 are not the same engine and you really can't swap anything between them except for heads. Soooo, there really isn't anything there for you to use, *unless* it's been parked because some blind old lady plowed into it sideways or something like that. IF the engine & tranny are ok then sure, you can remove them as a package and install it in your Bronco and you'll not only get the better Mpg's from the 302 but also from the OD tranny. It's a win/win deal. HOWEVER, if the engine is dead then you have a problem because you can't swap anything from it onto the 351. Unfortunately all the tools in the world won't make a 302 intake fit onto a 351 (ok, not exactly true but you didn't mention anywhere that you were a master sheetmetal fabricator so I'm assuming you *can't* make the manifolds fit the block). Like JSM said what you really need is another parts truck, something that either has a running engine & working tranny so you can swap the package OR one that's got a fuelie 302 & AOD (or AOD-E or E4OD *and* the processor to run it). If you look around you can probably find something, there's a TON of Katrina trucks on the market down your way and truth be told if I *could* find/grab one I probably would. Better still find yourself an E-350 cube van w/the fuelie 460 and swap THAT whole package in & then go kick sand in the faces of all those 300hp Chevy weaklings.
