I have a 96 Bronco with a 302 auto trans that the motor needs replaced, I also have a fresh .030 over, carbed, 351W motor in an 85 truck that I do not drive, (to many toys), if I install the 351 and a TPS on the carb, will the tranny still shift? I know I could get a bone yard EFI intake and computer for this but, this is a real budget swap just to get the Bronco back on the road.

I wouldnt get rid of the EFI definately not in this case and the tranny would not shift right because the EEC also controls the timing and fuel curves along with the shift points there all related in the big algorithm . If you do decide you must do this I got a controller from baumann engineering that is a stand alone controller for the E4OD then you could do what your after its $400 though :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I was on their web site and seen the controller and I also looked at an article about installing a TPS on a carb. I was hoping that would be all I needed to do is connect the TPS to the carb, install a EFI distributor and my existing wiring. If I need to go to the controller, I can get the EFI manifold and computer from the junk yard cheaper than $400.00. So, not to beat a dead horse, but, do you still think my approach is wrong or should I just pick up the manifold, computer and distributor and bite it in the wallet. One way or another, this swap will happen but I only want to do this once. I do not like the old saying "I never have time to do it right, but I alwasy have time to do it over"

Thanks for any in-put.

Eric
