I have a 91 Eddie Bauer (5.8) with a bad E4OD (amongst other things)

Theres a yard up the hill with a E4OD a 93 Bronco.

they dont have an interchange, but I'm wondering if that would work.

LMK and thanks in advance.

E4OD = (E)lectronic (4) speed with (O)ver (D)rive.

Ford released the E4OD in 87 (I think) and had trouble with it till around 92 that's when they made some changes / upgrades.

You should have no trouble with the 93 as it has some of the upgrades that make it a better tranny. As far as the compatability issue, I think it will mate up and work fine as they are the same tranny.

Please if I am wrong I would hope anyone that has better info will post.

Good luck

I thought it was introduced in 90, but i'm not 100% either.

All i know is that when i searched for a tranny, nothing really interchanged from 91 to 93 and up.

I dont want to find this transmission and have it not work.

my poor poor bronco.

at least it has awesome vanity plates.

Haveing had my e4od rebuilt i can tell yah that those came out in 90. The e4od was changed in 92 i think to the 4r100 because of the upgrades they did to it. They are virtually the same trans so Ima pretty sure it will work call up a tranny shop and ask'em usally thosse guys will know rite away and becarefull with that trans as it weights sum where around 400lbs+. Or you can do wht i did and shell out $2000 for a rebuilt one and have it installed. I got it broke off in me @-) . I know...

The E4OD in the 93 will work in the 91. Make sure the 93 Bronco has a 5.8L because the E4OD for the 5.8L has more clutches then the E4OD in the 5.0L. And just for the record there were updates for the transmission in mid 95 and the 4R100 cam out in 99
