i have an 89 bronco. 5.8l v8, automatic tranny with a 1356 transfer case. i had a 8.8 rear axle in and just about finished up with swapping out the 8.8 to a 77 E150 9" axle. my question is what size ****** is on the 9" and what size is on the drive shaft. i'm pretty sure the axle is a 1310 and driveshaft is a 1330. i'm not positive or even have a clue how to figure that out. i need to know asap in order to get a new ******. well, i guess then i only need to know the size of the driveshaft yoke.

thanks in advance,

jake

have you tried getting the parts guy to look up the sizes for both the 89 bronco and the 77 E 150? then he can tell you what the difference is if there is one and then get a conversion ujoint that will fit both sizes. thats what I had to do with my tbird. the 79 bird 9" rear with the 73 mustang driveshaft. the difference was enough that napa didn't carry the ujoint I needed. Carquest down the street had one on the shelf.

Those bastard ujoints (yes that is what they all called) are about twice the price of regular ones. I also managed to break the 1310 section twice last year. Looked like this

Needless to say I would stay away from them. Just got this a week ago
