Hello, I bought a 1989 and it had more problems than I realized. Some have been fixed and it no longer has a wild high idle but it will die after a minute or so, until it gets warmed up. But now while driving it dies at stops and sometimes it will hardly crank. The battery seems ok because it’s not run down after sitting for a week. Any ideas what is causing it to die or the slow crank? I have to take it to a shop to be worked on and they don’t seem to know. It’s had some vacuum leaks fixed, a new EGR and pcv, lower intake gasket as well as some other stuff done.

Sounds like the starter is bad. If it cranks normally when cold, but barely turns over when hot, that is usually a starter.

Probably look at the IAC valve. It controls idle. But you may still have a vacuum leak as well.
Check engine light on? Vacuum leaks will usually throw a lean O2 sensor code.
