I just bought (from Jeffs :)>- ) Daystar body mount bushings for my 82 FSB. The numbering Daystar uses dosnt match the numbering in my Ford shop manual. I was wondering if there is anyway of identifying what goes where other than holding the new onews up to whats left (not much) of the old.

I installed the Daystar poly's (from RMS) a few years ago. There are 3 types of bushings. One pair goes in the front/core support, it will have a hex-shape to it for the lower mount. The next two pairs are the largest ones, they go under the cab area on the top mounts. The last two pairs are just small pucks that go under the bed/cargo area. The matching bushings for those mounts are similar, too. If you have any of the old bushings left, you can see what goes where. I have a few pics at SFO if you still need help. The front/ core support bushings will be the worst, I had to buy two new ones from LMC Truck and replaced the rubber with the poly's. The metal sleeves ***** together, and are usually rusted together. Plus, the factory ones have the rubber mounted around the metal part, so I used a hacksaw to cut away the rubber bushing. Post up if you need any help!!! :)>-

You can click on my profile, and go to my superford.org link. I'll post a pic or two to get you going

This is one of the large cab bushings. The top one is round with a smaller section under it, that fits into the upper sleeve. The lower bushing is a regular flat puck or round bushing. I had to pound the upper and lower metal sleeves apart with a bushing knocker set. You can insert the body mount bolt from below to protect the threads of the lower sleeve, but I still had to re-tap one of them due to buggering up the threads from pounding the upper and lower sleeves apart. The red poly bushings are around the inner, metal sleeve. The upper part and lower part are pressed together from the factory, and will be rusted together. It took some pounding with a 12# sledge and the bushing knocker set to separate them. I spent some time filing the two sleeves so they could go back together.
