Curious about steering

We are currently looking into purchasing a '79 and took it for a test drive last night. Bronco ran great!!!!! The only problem we really had questions about was how the steering felt. It felt floaty, not so much that you really had to turn the steering wheel to keep it on the road, but there was definately floating. What could cause this, gear box, tire pressure, what should we be looking at before thinking about purchasing?

Would appreciate any info.

Check out tire pressure for sure, tie rod ends, ball joints. And finally steering box all come into play

You might try the steering stabilizer shock. My F-250 was doing the same thing and thats what it was.
