Have had me this Bronco for some time now and I am thinking about opening her up a little bit. I have always loved the early Bronco look (might be easier to just buy one of those, but I hate to back down to a challenge) and want to do the same to my late model. First, I will tell you what I want to do, and you can tell me I'm crazy or where to start. I would like to make the Cab convertible, which would mean I would have to take off the hard doors and replace them with some sort of fabric door. Which would mean I would have to put in some sort of roll bar over my head, just in case, and to support the "large" soft top to cover the vehicle in inclement weather (I live in NJ).

I know this is a lofty goal, and I will probably comprimise with a FastTrac Top and some righteous sun roof or T-tops, and keep the windows rolled downed.

At any rate, is there such a kit, or am I destined to machine the cover myself, and are there soft doors for late broncos. Thanks for the help or critisism...

O don't think you'd have to use soft doors. There's half door kits you can get that would give you a good starting point. I think you could run into problems with the third brake light and seatbelts though.

AFAIK you're gonna have to fab up most of what you want to do yourself, and the body is going to lose a lot of its rigidity once you lose the top half. Even with a roll cage you're not going to have the stiffness you'd get with the regular cab/top combo unless you design it just right. Just something to keep in mind for later.
