Im a clean freak, not gunna lie, i wax and compound my bronco when i see a spot that doesnt look good..SOOOO i wanna make my engine look clean again, there is alot gunk and dust and mud  in there. I have a buddy who rinsed fuel injected engine out and didnt cover anything, and i wanna know if i need to cover some parts in the engine compartment that shouldnt get wet. I did some research on it before posting but couldnt really get any good answers.

Much appreciate

Well you never want the distributor or alternator to get wet so I would cover those up, also try not to use solvents like greased lightening because it gives the aluminum on the motor an ugly discoloration. Also there may be places that steam clean engines by where your at, some even will come to you.
