The chromoly shafts will hold up better than stock for sure, but are not 100% bullet-proof with 38" or larger tires. I picked some up for the front of my 78 Bronco from Alloy USA, but haven't had a chance to really test them out yet. The stock shafts definitely do not hold up, JSM84
where i live and wheel is a lot of sandy mud, my stock axles have ben holding up to my 38's and i wheel my truck overly hard...but moly axles wil hold up better like JSM said...i would advise you to run a strong but not too strong axle joints that way they will blow before something else will
