yo,
Friends in my parts of da pinies have found it very diff to keep the Bronco interior clean without
a garage and at least bed sheets over it for dust
animals tend to like our Bronco interiors, just as Dogs and insects do too; squirels rip em up here; they seem to enjoy the vinyl trim, seats, dash and all wiring insulation
a tarp helps for non-animal issues; I had a HD tarp suspended over the 78 for a year or two; made it look like a parachute by installing ss/or brass grommets in center and using a rope to hang it from a tree branch.
ez tp drop and spread over with reope lengths in 4 corner grommets.
much ezier that a car cover that hangs up on everythAng

==== If you want it to be fairly clean and dry during trail or beach adventures;
Make or buy Neoprene or Vinyl seat Covers
Wet Okole - Bronco/Ford truck seat covers (neoprene & nylon)
$$$$$
Consider vinyl covers w/out ventilation inserts, such as by our Sponsor here, Jeff's Bronco Graveyard

Or just use velcro and buy vinyl from Wal Mart and diy wrap; I really use a lot of "industrial strength" Velcro from Wal Mart to secure plastic/vinyl and hang things in the Bronco. Good too for soda can insulator attachement to seat belt reel @ B pillar trim
do dash too and have it drape down over instr panel; I used to have a pic of the 78 with the vinyl along dash, rolled-up tightly against windshield (held it to dash pad by pulling pad up and having vinyl wrapped under pad) and we un-rolled it if it rained so it came down over inst panel protecting gauages, switches, trim.
Pad pulled pic by grover in his 78:
Could do same for speaker grilles...using 3M HD command strips t hold vinyl pieces over grilles; remove when not needed
I have the rubber/vinyl mat instead of carpeting in my 96XL; in fact, I chose the XL when buying it new over the Sport/ XLT/EB models (was foaming at mouth over the Sport Model) bec. we do
a lot of surf fishing & over the sand runs and carpeting makes life miserable here as well as our sandy soil, pine needles, etc.
It is not water-proof, but I used black GE RTV sealant along seams/non door sill joints, around side panel trim, B pillar (have to keep the connectors dry on both sides; esp air bagged Broncos where safing sensor is inside B pillar trim on passenger side..
etc.
