I have just put in a 2" lift on my 81 bronco and everywhere I have read wouldn't need TTB extensions. I have big problems with camber and caster even with camber and caster adjustable bushings in still have too much even for them. Seems like having all problems with 4" lift but with only 2". Was hoping not to put traction beam extensions on as I do a lot of off roading and herd they are not very strong. Any help or advise would be help full thank you.

yo T,

WELCOME!

Read this article by ROADKILL w/excellent diagrams of lift effects on caster/camber

http://broncozone.com/topic/11092-lifting-a-ttb-suspension/

EDIT; here is the diagram;effect-of-longer-springs.jpg

"When you use longer springs to lower the wheels with out lowering the axle pivot brackets and radius arm brackets, camber/castor angles can be altered beyond the point where they can be corrected with bushings"

for more Camber Bushing info; see my site @ http://www.broncolinks.com/index.php?index=333

MOOG®, offers Camber Bushings (they refer to them as Adjustment Cams) that "allow up to 25% greater range of adjustment"

What Brand lift is in there?

I know that Tuff Country 2.5" basic kit includes radius arm relocation brackets; were these in your kit and installed?

and Tuff Country 2.5" Performance Lift kit includes extended radius arms & drop brackets; I believe you need both

TRUCKY18 (B'co) installed the Tuff Country 2.5" Performance Lift and has not repoted any alignment problems.

Black Diamond (BDS) 1 inch & 2 inch instructions claim that, "On most models, caster is non-adjustable. If Black Diamond adjustable eccentric camber/caster alignment bushings are being used, you may have some left over camber angle that must be converted to caster. With this lift, it is definitely best to increase positive caster. MAXIMUM SIDE-TO-SIDE VARIATIONS:

Caster. 1 ½*

Camber, 23/32*"

Was a complete re-torque done on all bolts first 100 miles of installation?

Superlift states, "Negative camber is corrected by replacing the factory camber bushings, located on top of the upper ball joints. Ford dealers and alignment shops offer replacement camber bushings in set increments of correction up to 2-degrees. Superlift offers adjustable camber bushings with an increased correction range. Generally, this increased range allows the alignment shop to correct camber, and also improve caster angle.

Factory length shock absorbers will bolt-up, but most will top-out prematurely. If rear lift is desired, refer to the Rear Block Kits or Add-A-Leafs sections."
