What is the opinion of the 3:50 gear ratio in the 9" rear end. 3:55 I guess is only available in 8.8" setups and I personally think the 9" is the only way to go.

The rear end I have also has the factory limited slip with about 118,000 miles on it. While I am switching rear ends...should I look at the clutch paks...I am planning on putting new seals in it and all that good stuff.

I was hoping to find 4:10 gear ratio in the junk yards but they just don't exist...and putting new gears in is probably the best thing to do other than the huge price tag...

Just looking for opinions... :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Gear ratio depends on what you want to use the truck for, wheel size, what end of the acceptable RPM range you waant to operate in (power or economy), etc. You can find 9" rearend gears herehttp://ringpinion.com/content/products/default.asp?vid=3&pid=4

Good luck,

:)>-

There should be plenty of 4:10 geared 9" rear ends at the junk yards. Everyone these days wants 4:56 or lower due to 35"+ tires on their rigs.

What size tires are you planning on running?
