He guys. Usually can find what I need from the Archives. But not this time. My problem is this: I have a 1996 Bronco, 351 Engine. Yesterday my cruise control wouldn't work. Noticed that my brake lights come on when I turn on the vehicle. So I hit ignition and brake lights come on and stay on. Flashers won't work. But when I turn off ignition the flashers work. Replaced flasher circuit breaker Check brake light switch mounted on brake pedal and its good. My cruise control was working fine yesterday. No it won't work. It is as if the brakes are engaged and the cruise wont come on-as if you tapped the break to get them to disengage. I have checked all the fuses to no avail. Help me please.

see the wiring diagram there as well as the Recall Update

check that brake switch

Next is da Multifunction Switch (MFS), Hazard, Turn, High & Low Headlight Dimmer, Flash-to-Pass & Brake Light Testing & Wiring Diagram in 92-96; If MFS is bad, get one from any 92-96 Bronco or Ford Truck bec as Steve wrote; They are electrically & functionally identical. Only the shape & finish of the stalk is different.

The brake light ckt flows thru the MFS; test that first if other tests above show no problem and recall work was done.

Thank you for your quick response! Just the kind of answer I was looking for. I find electrical problems pretty challenging. I thought I was going crazy doing all this troubleshooting. I bet its the MFS. Great idea about the recall. I'll call Ford in the morning. By the way, I love this forum. This forum has saved me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars keeping my Bronco running like a top. Great stuff guys!
